Youth for Human Rights International teaches human rights education both in the classroom and beyond traditional education settings. We aim to reach people from diverse backgrounds and our materials often appeal across generations. From teaching human rights through conferences and workshops to hip-hop and dancing, the message spreads around the world and reaches onto every continent and into many countries.

Our materials include the UNITED music video – a street-savvy, multi-ethnic, five-minute anti-bullying message that has captured the imagination of people around the world. Our 30 short public service announcement videos depict the 30 articles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In less than a minute the youth can learn one of their human rights and the media has caught on airing them in countries around the world. But, it didn’t end there. The videos are now airing on the huge screens at half-time during soccer matches, on small screens inside taxi cabs, large super market screens, in theatres, in railway stations, and the list continues.

We have inspired people to walk, race racecars, paint murals and hold large open-air concerts as well as small gatherings with youth groups and orphanages.

Our human rights videos and curricula fill the schoolrooms and halls of learning with the simple messages of human rights education.

We realize the importance of collaborating with like-minded individuals and groups to expand our horizons and learn from them their hard-earned lessons to gain tenacity and strength.
